FREE Las Vegas

So, you are down on your luck, broke and stuck in Las Vegas for 1 more day before your vacation is over. Bummer. What are some great things to do for Free in Las Vegas? The obvious answer is just walking up and down the strip checking out the different casinos, people watching or sit by the pool and catch a burn. However, I suspect these are not the answers you were hoping for! Here are some of my favorite Free Las Vegas things to do:

Daytime Free Las Vegas things to check out:

  1. 1. Dancing Fountains at The Bellagio - Day and/or Night, by far my Favorite thing to see in Las Vegas!

  2. Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand - Lions!
  3. Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo - Flamingos, Ducks, Koi, Turtles, and other wildlife are nestled in the back.
  4. Circus Acts at the Circus Circus - Not quite my thing, but worth checking out.
  5. Craps Lessons at any Las Vegas Casino - Everyone loves playing craps, but few truly know how to really play the game. Take a free lesson on the house!

Nighttime Free Las Vegas things to check out:

  1. Voodoo Lounge at the RIO - This is an awsome place to go and view Las Vegas at night from the 51st Floor of the RIO! Great music and dancers! If you go to www.riovegasnights.com/vip.cfm , you can land yourself (2) Free VIP Passes!

  2. Mix Lounge at Mandaly Bay - Another great view of Vegas at night from the opposite side of the Strip! No Cover charge if you get there before 10pm!
  3. Carnaval Court at Harrahs - Live bands / DJ's/ Bar tenders flipping bottles every where!
  4. Show in the Sky at RIO - Toted as the Best Free Show in Las Vegas! 3 unique shows featuring stunning dancers wearing costume fashions from Victoris Secret. Enough said (for free).
  5. Dancing Fountains at the Bellagio - A MUST see at night!
  6. Sirens of TI Pirate Show at Treasure Island
  7. Flair Bartenders at Kahunaville in Treasure Island - These guys are awesome!
  8. People Watch / Celebrity sightings at The Palms or The Hard Rock!

I hope this list helps you plan your next vaction to Las Vegas. I am sure I am missing a couple great FREE Las Vegas attractions, but these were the ones that popped in my head.

Have Fun and Good Luck!

Favorite Las Vegas Restaurants!

Las Vegas is the home of the top restaurants and chefs in the World! Kelli and I will soon begin to give our Las Vegas Reviews on restaurants individually in detail. We plan on listing our full Las Vegas Restauant Reviews in the next few weeks to be exact. However, in case you are headed to vacation in Vegas this weekend, I wanted to start by sharing my personal favorites!

Ed's Favorites:

Favorite Las Vegas Steakhouse
- SW (Steven Wynn)
Steakhouse, located at the Wynn. All I can say is wow! I would classify myself as a some what of a steak snob, and SW has never let me down! They offer a relaxed dinner setting with the option to dine on their outdoor patio along side the Lake of Dreams. I recommend the 16oz NEW YORK STRIP! There are a lot of GREAT Steakhouses in Las Vegas, but this is by far my #1! A definite must! (Business Casual Attire)

Favorite Las Vegas Casual Dinner Restaurant(s) (Dead Heat Tie!)
- MESA, located at Ceasars Palace. Bobby Flay's MESA offers great tasting grilled Southwestern meals that don't leave you hungry, nor do they make you split at the seams. I recommend the ANCHO CHILE-HONEY GLAZED SALMON w/ Spicy Black Bean Sauce + Roasted Jalapeno Crema! They also offer a huge premium tequila margarita menu and a great lunch menu!

- FIX, located at The Bellagio. This is a Casual, contemporary styled, American fare restaurant. They offer great Dry Aged, Wet Aged and Kobe steaks, as well as a great Sushi offering. I recommend the 10oz WET AGED FILLET MIGNON. Dinner Only.

Favorite Las Vegas Restaurant(s) for Lunch (Dead Heat Tie...AGAIN!)
- Gardunos
, located at The Palms. Voted "Best of Vegas" 8 times serving authentic "New Mexican" specialties. Start out with their 17.5oz House Margarita and the order the
PESCADO BLANCO TACOS (grilled white fish Tacos)!

- All American Bar & Grill, located at RIO. Serving their famous (14) different wood grilled Angus burgers. I recommend the JalapeƱo Cheddar Cheese Burger!

Favorite Las Vegas Restaurant for Breakfast
- ???Starbucks???, I am usually out of commish for a full breakfast. However, in the rare occasion Kelli drags me out for the AM meal, she likes to go to The Buffet, located at the Bellagio. They do have a great Champagne brunch on the weekends. Go hungry, leave full!

I hope these Las Vegas Restaurant Reccomendations make your next trip a little pleasurable. We want to be able to find you the best deals in Las Vegas. Vegas Vacations can be overwhelming with all the wonderful options you have. We hope our Vegas Reviews will help!

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Ed Alf. My wife, Kelli, and I have frequented the great city of Las Vegas, NV many of times over the last 5 years. Too many trips to count! Often we are asked by friends and family to give our recommendations on where to stay, eat, gamble, party, relax, as well as any tips, tricks or pointers (if you will) while in Sin City.

What hotels are for the younger crowd? The older crowd? A mix? Where to spoil yourself? Where to go on a budget? Where can I find the top Steakhouse in Vegas? What hotel has the best pool? The best gaming? Where to watch the big game? Where to people watch? Where to shop? What shows are good? What should I wear? Who has the best comps? Where to find deals? Best method of Transportation while in Vegas? You name it!

That being said, we have decided to start our own Las Vegas Review blog titled, Vegas Review Journals. Vegas Review Journals will display our ratings on all of the places we have stayed, eaten, gambled, partied and relaxed while on our past Vegas getaways. What we recommend and what we don't. We also plan on sharing our do's and don'ts, tips and tricks, and fill you in on upcoming events in Las Vegas to make your next trip a “winner”! (Corny, I love it!)

We plan on rating each experience by Quality, Price, Atmosphere, Availability, and Overall Experience. Pictures will be added when we have them and we plan on being even more observant on our next trip out!

The intention is to give you a full review of Las Vegas. If we have not been to a certain place or done something yet, we will supply you with the best non-bias info about the experience and not give it a rating. Therefore, you will have a great overall knowledge of what’s going on while in Vegas. Look for our Top 10’s and any specials or promotions we may find for you.

These reviews are our opinions based on our past experiences. Once again, these are only our opinions. We mean no disrespect to anybody or any organization. We also welcome your comments and hope to start a wild and crazy online forum of Vegas junkies like ourselves!

Thanks for stopping bye!

-Ed & Kelli
